Rex Koningsor

 

A native of Tucson, Rex has lived most of his life here in the Old Pueblo.  He graduated from Palo Verde H.S., and attended Pima Community College, and the University of Arizona, where he studied Microbiology, and worked in a local hospital, performing many duties including assisting on clinical autopsies. He went on to earn an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy, and served as a Rehab Facility Director, in skilled nursing facilities in Florida and Mississippi.  He has traveled 48 states, several countries, most notably passing thru Check Point Charlie before the Berlin Wall came down.   He recently returned to his hometown, to further study his main passion in life, Photography.  Science, History, & Nature are common themes in his Art.  His philosophy of life is best summed up by the KODAK slogan: “Take only photographs, Leave only footprints.”   “I have had the fortune to lay stretched out on a rock in Sabino Canyon, under the Arizona sunshine; and to lay close to the floor, as a hurricane passes over in Mississippi, every day is an adventure.” He is currently enrolled at the Southwest University of Visual Arts in Tucson, where he is a completing his Master of Fine Arts Degree in Photography.
